01 — Project details

Working individually, I drafted documentation for usage of the web-based design tool Figma for different audiences within the company.

This task was part of a bigger ongoing project to construct a reference library of best practices and agency tailored guidance.

02 — Creative process

1. I researched effective examples of communicating design oriented instructions available to the company - we chose SharePoint. I also deepened my Figma knowledge.

2. I held an internal discovery session with my Web Development Director and a Senior Art Director to observe a demonstration of the intended use of the component being introduced.

3. I drafted a guide for graphic designers about "How-to work with UI Component Libraries in Figma" that documented the steps shared in the demo.

03 — Results

The guidance was used to record an accompanying demo video to support graphic designer on boarding. We have on-boarded 100% of designers to using this element of Figma.
